DANGER!!! Google suddenly gives a warning to Android users, what's wrong?

KOMPUTER JADUL-, The frequent warning notifications that often appear on Android users' screens from Google are apparently not trivial. This warning appears when users access dangerous content that contains malware or phishing attempts.

"You will see a lot of warnings if the content you want to view is dangerous or fraudulent. These sites are often called 'phishing' or 'malware' sites," said Google, quoted Saturday (23/2/2025).

According to Google, if a site is detected as dangerous or fraudulent, the system will display a warning to all users. Sites like this are usually used by cybercriminals to steal personal information from victims, which can then be used for fraud or sold to other parties.

Therefore, users are advised to always pay attention to warnings from Google. This system works automatically with phishing and malware detection features that are active by default.

There are at least five warnings that are often ignored by Android users regarding this matter. Here is the information, summarized from The Sun.

1. "The site ahead contains malware"

The website you are visiting may install malicious software or malware on your computer

2. "Deceptive site ahead"

The website you are visiting is most likely phishing

3. "Suspicious site"

The website you are visiting is suspicious and possibly dangerous

4. "The site ahead contains harmful programs"

The website you are visiting may trick you into installing programs that can cause problems when using the internet

5. "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources"

The website you are visiting is dangerous.

Applications outside the Play Store

Another warning from Google is about installing applications from outside the Play Store which are usually in the form of apk files or sideloading. Unlike the iPhone, Google has long allowed applications to be downloaded and installed outside the official store.

However, Google CEO Sundar Pichai warned Android phone users not to sideload on their devices.

The discussion of sideloading has long been controversial. The camp is divided into two, on the one hand many say that sideloading provides freedom and flexibility for users to freely access applications made by developers that are not officially available.

However, on the other hand, sideloading is considered to be dangerous. This is because applications available in the official application store have gone through a screening process, so they are safer.

Pichai warned all Android phone users that sideloading applications have a high risk because they are susceptible to malware infection.

The warning is in line with Apple's reasons for not wanting to grant sideloading permission. Apple also uses Google's statement as a 'weapon', and states that Google alone knows how much potential danger is caused by sideloading applications.

The debate about sideloading rests on one thing, namely how to create a balance between user freedom and user security.

Although sideloading is at risk of bringing dangerous viruses, this mechanism is considered to provide users with free access to all applications. In addition, sideloading also allows users to access beta applications that are not yet official.

Another additional point, sideloading also supports independent application developers who do not want to be tied to an official application system on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
