KOMPUTER JADUL-, A recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center found that Americans' views of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg tend to be negative rather than positive.
To conduct this study, Pew involved 5,086 randomly selected US adults. The survey was conducted from January 27, 2025 to February 2, 2025, so their answers reflect the latest public opinion.
The survey found that Zuckerberg is less popular than Musk. 67% of respondents said they have a negative view of Zuckerberg, while 54% said they dislike Musk.
"Two-thirds of Americans have a negative view of Zuckerberg. This includes 26% who strongly dislike him," Pew said in the results of its poll, as quoted by Gizmodo, Sunday (23/2/2025).
"Another quarter view him positively, including only 2% who view him very positively", he added. The two tech bosses continue to be in the spotlight after Donald Trump was re-elected as US President. Both sat with Trump at his inauguration and donated to his inauguration fund together.
Zuckerberg has also come under fire after changing Meta's content moderation policies to limit fact-checking and crackdown on hate speech. Musk, meanwhile, has become Trump's right-hand man and has played a major role in his administration.
Given Musk's close relationship with Trump, it's no wonder that 85% of Democrats or Democratic-leaning respondents have a negative view of the Tesla boss. Meanwhile, 73% of Republicans or Republican-leaning respondents have a more positive view.
Zuckerberg, on the other hand, is not universally well-liked, although he has drawn more criticism from the Democratic-leaning demographic. 76% of Democrats have a negative view of the Meta CEO, while 60% of Republicans have the same sentiment.
Zuckerberg has spent too much energy and thought trying to change his image to look cooler. But it seems that the trendier clothes and gold necklaces that Zuckerberg now often wears have not succeeded in attracting the sympathy and empathy of American citizens.
