VIVO Sub-Brand Smartphone iQoo 13 Goes Official in Indonesia With Snapdragon 8 Elite

This Vivo sub-brand phone was previously released in China in October 2024. The iQoo 13 is the successor to the iQoo 12 which was also released in Indonesia in December last year.

As a successor, the iQoo 13 brings a number of improvements, especially in the chipset aspect. The iQoo 13 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the highest mobile chip currently from Qualcomm. This also makes the iQoo 13 the very first smartphone in Indonesia with this chip. iQoo 13 is very equipped with the Supercomputing Q2 chip developed by iQoo to support a much better gaming experience for its users.

"The Q2 supercomputing chip was developed by iQoo with a focus on graphic quality. This chip provides a resolution increase equivalent to 2K PC resolution," he said. This smartphone is also equipped with a 7K Ultra VC cooling system with a cooling space of 7,000 square millimeters. According to Praditya, the size of this cellphone's cooler is up to 17 percent wider than its predecessor. In addition to the chip and cooling system, the iQoo 13 also brings a number of other improvements including a larger screen aspect, a higher resolution camera and an increased battery capacity compared to the iQoo 12. The iQoo 14 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite System on Chip (SoC). This chipset is designed with 3 nm fabrication and has eight cores (octa-core), including two Oryon V2 Phoenix L cores with a clock speed of 4.32 GHz, and six Oryon V2 Phoenix M cores with a clock speed of 3.53 GHz. The graphics processing unit (GPU) of this chipset is the Adreno 830.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite has a fast processing performance that is 45 percent faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This chipset is also 44 percent more power efficient than its predecessor.

In the iQoo 13, this chip is combined with two RAM and storage options, namely 12 GB/256 GB and 16 GB/512 GB. This smartphone is equipped with a 6,150 mAh battery, an increase from its predecessor of 5,000 mAh. However, the fast charging support remains the same, which is 120 watts. iQoo also includes support for the Bypass chat feature, to support gaming activities while charging the cellphone while playing games.

In terms of design, the iQoo 13 looks similar to its predecessor. The screen has a small punch hole in the top center, while the back is equipped with a square camera module, in the upper left corner.

What's different is that the iQoo 13 camera module is now equipped with an RGB ring that will light up in various colors. This RGB ring can display 72 light effects, including 12 color combinations and effects such as spirals and pulsating.

The smartphone's RGB ring can display colors according to notifications or music being played. This ring also functions to indicate charging status. Not only that, this accessory can light up when the user wins or is eliminated (killed) in certain games, such as the MOBA game Honor of Kings.

Still in terms of design, the iQoo 13 is equipped with a 6.82-inch AMOLED LTPO 2.0 screen. The size is larger than the iQoo 12 with a 6.78-inch screen.

The iQoo 13 screen uses the latest Q10 material, which can achieve a brighter and clearer peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The panel made by the BOE company has a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, a variable refresh rate of 1 Hz to 144 Hz, and smooth curved corners on four parts of the screen. Therefore, at first glance the cellphone looks like it has a flat screen, even though the panel has curves at all four corners.

The phone's screen is equipped with a small punch hole feature to accommodate a 32 MP (f/2.5) front camera. The front camera resolution has increased from the iQoo 12 16 MP. While the rear camera has a total of three cameras. Consisting of a 50 MP main camera (1/1.56-inch IMX921 sensor, f/1.9, OIS image stabilizer), a 50 MP telephoto camera (1/2.93-inch sensor, f/1.9, 2x optical zoom, OIS image stabilizer), and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera (1/2.76-inch sensor, f/2.0, Autofocus). Compared to its predecessor, the resolution of the iQoo 13 telephoto camera is actually lower because the iQoo 12 is equipped with a 64 MP telephoto camera. In terms of software, the iQoo 13 runs on the Android 15 operating system (OS), and is coated with the Funtouch OS 15 user interface (UI). The iQoo 13 is also equipped with other features, including an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner in the screen (in-display), waterproof and dustproof certification with an IP68 + IP69 rating, 360-degree NFC, USB 3.2, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Snapdragon Sound, 5G connectivity, and many more.
