After WWDC, iOS 19 will enter the testing phase before launching a public beta version this summer. iOS 19 will only be officially launched in September 2025 along with the new iPhone.

1. Design overhaul
iOS 19 adopts a design inspired by visionOS so that it offers a more transparent interface like glass for buttons, menus, and notifications.
App icons will also be made more rounded and the tab bar will be shaped like a pill, especially on native apps, such as Messages and Apple Music, improving the visual experience.
The redesign will further simplify navigation and control, with updated icons, menus, windows, and system buttons.
2. Camera app feature updates
The camera app will get a new layout with more screen space for photo previews. A transparent pop-up menu allows for easier switching between camera modes, such as photo, video, and exposure settings.
3. Apple's AI improvements
Features that have been fully powered by artificial intelligence (AI) will be integrated into more apps, including health monitoring and personalized recommendations.
Siri will also become smarter with personal context awareness, on-screen interactions, and deeper app integration for tasks, such as managing files or editing photos.
4. Improved messaging features
Rich communication service (RCS) 3.0 will be added to iOS 19, allowing users to edit and unsend messages with Android users.
In addition, features such as inline reply, tapbacks, and end-to-end encryption for "green bubble" messages will also be added to improve cross-platform communication.
5. Improved health applications

iPhones That Will Not Get the iOS 19 Update
