KOMPUTR JADUL-, Technology industry company MediaTek has launched its latest chipset, the Dimensity 9400+. This flagship Android mobile platform brings generative AI and agent AI capabilities, with the latest Large Language Models (LLM), but maintains a power-efficient design. The Dimensity 9400+ features All Big Core, which integrates one Arm Cortex-X925 core operating at up to 3.73GHz, combined with 3x Cortex-X4 and 4x Cortex-A720 cores.
This powerful configuration accelerates single-threaded and multithreaded performance, providing the best Android UX experience. "MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ will provide a more innovative and highly personalized AI experience on devices, also supported by overall performance improvements," said JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek, Friday (11/4/2025).
Equipped with the MediaTek NPU 890, the Dimensity 9400+ supports a number of LLMs in various regions around the world. This chipset also supports Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), Multi-Token Prediction (MTP), and FP8 Inference with faster reasoning speed.
In addition, this high-end MediaTek chipset offers 20 percent faster agent AI performance with Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+). Meanwhile, the integrated Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE) makes it easy for developers to transform traditional AI applications into Agent AI applications.
Quoting Telkom University Surabaya, agent AI is a software or hardware system designed to perform certain tasks independently using artificial intelligence algorithms. Agent AI is able to observe the environment, make decisions based on the data collected, and take actions to achieve certain goals.
In addition to Agent AI capabilities, the Dimensity 9400+ integrates a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU to provide a visual gaming experience with PC-level features to smartphones, such as Opacity Micromap (OMM) support which provides realistic effects. Thus, game elements such as vegetation, hair, or fur look more realistic and dimensional without sacrificing performance.
The powerful GPU of this chipset also maintains the speed of game play, allowing users to play longer without lag. In addition, the Dimensity 9400+ is equipped with the latest frame rate converter 2.0+ (MFRC 2.0+).
Developed with game developers, the chip doubles the effective FPS and increases power savings by up to 40 percent when MFRC is used. There is also the MediaTek Imagiq 1090 which provides HDR video recording support across the entire zoom range.
MediaTek's Smooth Zoom technology also makes it easy to capture moving subjects smoothly, while allowing users to isolate the desired images and audio in each scene. The additional features of the Dimensity 9400+ are in connectivity.
This chip can extend direct Bluetooth connections between smartphones up to 10 km, or 6.6 times further than the previous generation. BeiDou satellite connection support with 30 percent faster TTTF (Time to First Fix), even without cellular connectivity.
This SoC also supports Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency with five data streams. Then, MediaTek Xtra RangeTM 3.0 to provide Wi-Fi coverage up to 30 meters wider.
Finally, there is 5G / 4G Dual SIM Dual Active capability, with Dual Data providing flexibility for users. The first smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ is available in the market later this month.
